Oh no. Not again.
Oh Lord, it’s that time of year again when that oh-so-special day rolls around—and you don’t remember it until about 11:59 the night before. No, not your anniversary—it’s St. Valentine’s Day! Looks like Cupid was so busy trying to keep up with that damn Paris Hilton that he forgot to remind your ass.
Now, I know you guys are moaning and groaning about yet another holiday that seems to benefit
us more than it does you. I also know that some of you are a little stressed as to who you are going to shower with attention on the big day. (I know quite a few people who got their feelings hurt because they thought they were number one only to find out they were running a distant second or third.) Such is life.
Don’t get me wrong—I truly understand that you guys think of this holiday as too expensive, too close to Christmas, and too much of a hassle to prove on one day what you think you show us all year round. Add to that the pressure that we put on you to impress us and the thought of having a colonoscopy can seem more appealing. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Valentine’s Day should be more about making memories and less about spending money. Your heart will tell you how to proceed. On this particular day, there are so many ways to show the object of your desire just what you feel for her that little ol’ me will only be able to list a few of them.
